The Tagpura-Maangob porphyry copper-gold corridor currently is some 1500m long and 500m wide. The corridor has conceptual or order of magnitude tonnage and grade currently ranging between 1 billion and 1.7 billion tonnes, with potential economic grades ranging from 0.30% to 0.7% copper, and 0.17g/t to 0.31 g/t gold. Several new prospects are also located with and nearby this corridor include: Tagpura South, Tagpura East and Kapangawan.
exploration
Tagpura Maangob is a very large system of typical Philippine porphyry copper-gold mineralization. The geophysical survey is defining potential extensions to the mineralised system to the south of the old Tagpura mine area. For background on the project readers are referred to: Cadan technical report, published and available on www.sedar.com (news release dated February, 12, 2003).
Cadan is now undertaking additional detailed mapping and sampling of the known mineralisation exposed in the existing benches as well as regional exploration.
The extension areas or new prospects are Tagpura South and, to the east, Tagpura East.
tagpura south skarn prospect
A skarn area some 130m wide by 300m long has been mapped one km south of the Tagpura open pit. The skarn contains massive sulphides, magnetite and chalcopyrite.
tagpura east copper gold prospect
An area showing extensive evidence of surface copper mineralization has been mapped some two km east and along strike from where Cadan's main resource drilling is currently concentrated. The dimensions of this new area are 200m wide and 500m long.
drilling
Cadan is currently continuing resource definition drilling of geological targets within the Tagpura-Maangob corridor and drilling outside on possible expansion areas.
Photographs below show mineralized core intervals from the drilling program.
